The airsoft L85 replicas are reproductions of the standard assault rifle of the British army, the SA80. Their main advantage is their bullpup configuration, which allows for a long barrel while keeping a compact size, ideal for playing in varied terrain. They are generally available in AEG (electric) version, with a few rarer models in GBBR. Among the most popular models is the ICS L85A2, highly appreciated for its robustness, its easy-to-maintain split gearbox, and its overall good performance. G&G also offers a well-finished L85A2, but slightly lagging in terms of internal performance. The versions from S&T or Army Armament provide more accessible options for beginners or collectors. There is also a GBBR version from WE, which is very realistic with a good kick but less suited for long games. L85 replicas are often heavy (3.5 to 4 kg) and aimed at an audience looking for an original replica, true to British equipment. Their main downside remains the less practical ergonomics for left-handed users and a more limited compatibility with standard M4 parts.
